OLD SOUTHENDIAN LADIES Hockley first team secured a share of the points following a hard-fought goalless encounter with Crostyx.
Due to unavailability, the Seasiders travelled with the bare eleven players but produced a resolute performance. Speaking after the match, skipper, Emily Robinson, enthused: “We knew they were going to come out tough as it was their home game, but every player on the pitch put in one hundred per cent to secure the 0-0 result.”
Meanwhile, Old Southendian seconds slipped to a frustrating 2-0 defeat against an energetic Braintree second string. Team Captain, Ros Jackson, bemoaned: “We squandered a few chances in the first half and then having competed admirably against the opposition for 90 minutes, a couple of lapses of concentration undid us. Braintree’s finishing was merciless.”
