Beach Boys announce Search as new boss

Vanarama National League South outfit, Concord Rangers have appointed Chris Search as their new manager.

The 42-year-old replaces Danny Scopes, who resigned following the Beach Boys Buildbase FA Trophy final appearance at Wembley Stadium earlier this month.

Gleaning experience with the Beach Boys youth set up, Search will be assisted by former Concord player, Danny Green and Craig Shipman, who arrives at the Aspect arena as first-team coach.

Speaking to the clubs’ official website following his appointment, Search enthused: “Firstly I would like to say thanks to Concord Rangers and the Committee for giving me the opportunity to manage this great club after four years at the club and having worked closely with the first team over the past two seasons including the memorable day at Wembley.

“I am not underestimating the massive leap in levels, however alongside Danny Green and Craig Shipman, I believe we have a very complimentary and strong management team following on from the shock departures of Ant Smith and Danny Scopes in recent days and I felt this is an opportunity to continue the great work of the previous management team.

“With the promise of hard work from us all, we look forward to the new season ahead and will endeavour to progress the club in all possible ways on and off the field.”
