Benrahma’s belter beats Brentford

Brentford v West Ham United – Friendly Match – Brentford Community Stadium – Summary

Brentford 0-1 West Ham United

Said Benrahma marked his return to Brentford with the only goal of the game as West Ham United’s impressive pre-season form continued.

The Hammers faced a tough examination from the West Londoners, who have returned to the top-flight after a hiatus lasting more than sixty-years.

Pablo Fornals and Benrahma went close for the Hammers, while Sergi Canos tested Lukasz Fabianski during the opening period.

Michail Antonio was denied by an assistants flag shortly before the interval. And although Brentford started the second period brightly, it was Benrahma’s sweet curling effort that settled the contest, much to the delight of the 1,000 travelling Hammers amongst the sellout crowd.

West Ham United return to action on Saturday, August 7 when crack Italian outfit Atalanta visit the London Stadium, competing for the annual Betway Cup (3pm).
