Billericay secure a Reason for success

BILLERICAY TOWN have announced the signing of experienced midfielder Jai Reason from Vanarama National League outfit, Dover Athletic.

The 30-year-old becomes the first of several expected to arrive at New Lodge over the coming weeks as boss, Jamie O’Hara, attempts to fashion a squad capable of a successful promotion push during the 2020/21 campaign.

Southend-born Reason, who has also enjoyed spells with Eastleigheastleigh, Boreham Wood and Maidstone United, was delighted to get the deal done: “I’m really excited, really excited to get going now,” he enthused.

“I’ve been in talks with the gaffer here for quite a while now. He has told me all the plans going forward, so I just can’t wait to get going now.”

Reason confessed that the pull of playing under Jamie O’Hara was key in his decision to join the Blues.
“I think the manager – he’s a young, enthusiastic and he wants to go places,” the player added.

“I’ve still got that fie to get another promotion under my belt – It’s looking good for the new season.”

And the midfielder insisted Billericay’s should be targeting the top end of the National League South come the new season: “I think we’ve got to be looking at the play-offs, minimum. I think this club is big enough – a bit of a sleeping giant – the play-offs should be a minimum for us.”
