Southend United v Boreham Wood – Vanamara National League – Roots Hall Stadium – Report

Southend United 0-1 Boreham Wood

Toothless Southend United suffered a frustrating Vanarama National League opening day defeat against a Boreham Wood side reduced to nine men during the second half of their Roots Hall Stadium clash.

Danny Newton handed Boreham Wood a first-half lead after Dion Kelly-Evans had crossed from the right.
