Blues boss Brown keen to work on the fine margins

Billericay Town v Oxford City – Vanarama National League South – New Lodge – Wednesday 7:45pm – Preview

Billericay Town interim boss, Dan Brown will be looking for a little more cutting edge from his side when Oxford City visit New Lode on Wednesday evening.

The Blues competed well but ultimately slipped to a single-goal Vanarama National League South defeat at the hands of Essex rivals, Concord Rangers, last time out. Nevertheless, Brown suggested it was a case of fine margins which proved costly, something he would be working on ahead of the Hoops test.

“Right now (my thoughts) is to get in, get training, set up again and get everybody going,” Brown explained following Saturday’s derby setback.

“Everybody is quite disappointed. If you look at the game we’ve just played (Concord Rangers), the goal seemed erratic, but realistically, other than that we are set up, we are comfortable.

“For the boys, it’s a hard pill to swallow because they feel that they’ve had chances – they were set up – and it was just that one chance.

“We’ll look at it. I’ve got them in training again before Wednesday and we’ll get back on it.”

Billericay will be without Luke Wanadio, serving the first of a three-match ban following his late dismissal against the Beach Boys.
