Southend United’s Sky Bet League Two encounter with Walsall has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
Match referee, David Rock, deemed the Roots Hall Stadium playing surface unsuitable following an 8am inspection, with heavy rain through most of the week sited as the main issue.
A statement posted by the club explained;
Southend United would like to thank the ground staff for their continued efforts to try and get the pitch playable having recently had three home games in seven days.
