Boys charged following attack in Leigh

Two teenage boys will appear in court today after being charged in connection with an attack in Leigh-on-Sea.

Police were called to reports of a teenager being stabbed in Broadway at about 8.50pm on Thursday June 3.

The victim was taken to hospital for further treatment. His injuries are not considered to be life threatening or life changing.

A 17-year-old from Leigh has been charged with GBH with intent, possession of an offensive weapon and possession of a Class B drug.

A 15-year-old boy from Westcliff has been charged with two counts of possession of a bladed article.

They were due to appear in Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court today.

A third boy, aged 15, will face no further action.
