Brentwood celebrates Love Parks Week

Brentwood Council is encouraging people to explore the borough’s country parks as part of Love Parks Week 2022, which runs until Friday August 5.

Love Parks Week celebrates open green spaces and supports volunteers and workers around the country, who help maintain parks and other green areas.

The nationwide campaign also works with businesses, local authorities and the government to educate people and find creative solutions for dealing with litter, improving public spaces and educating future generations, with the Keep Britain Tidy environmental education programme.

Councillor Will Russell, chair of the Community, Environment and Enforcement Committee said: “Parks and other green spaces are great for boosting wellbeing and keeping fit. Whether you’re out picnicking with friends, looking to walk your dog somewhere different, or enjoying a walk with friends or family, parks are beautiful spaces to take a breather, play and connect with others.

“In Brentwood, we have beautiful country parks that people can enjoy at their leisure. This week is a reminder too, of all the fantastic work that our volunteers and workers do, to maintain these places for us to enjoy. If you haven’t explored our parks yet, now is a good time to start.”

The four Country Parks in Brentwood that Brentwood Borough Council manages are:

  • Hutton Country Park
  • St Faith’s Country Park
  • Merrymeade Country Park
  • Warley Country Park
