Chelsea v West Ham United – Premier League – Stamford Bridge – Monday 8pm – Preview
Brian Dear believes West Ham United can take something from their Premier League derby at Chelsea on Monday evening.
The Hammers head to Stamford Bridge off the back of their best start to a Premier League season in five years and will be further buoyed having recorded a double over the West Londoners during the last campaign.
“Why not?” Dear told Yellow Sport.
“We weren’t at our best against Crystal Palace on Tuesday, but we’ve been getting results. I think we will need to replicate something similar to watch we saw from the team at Leeds, but we know it’s in the locker.
“Chelsea possess some great players and Frank Lampard will be keen to get one over us, particularly after last season. But they’ve not been consistent so far. I think with the attacking options they have, Chelsea should have done better,
“They’ve lost their last two so there will be a bit of anxiety there. It’s up to us to expose that further and get a result.”
Dear spoke about striker, Sebastien Haller, whose spectacular goal earned a share of the spoils against Palace during the week: “It was a great goal, but we need to see a bit more from him.
“He has scored several spectacular goals, but as David Moyes said, he needs to start finishing the easy ones. Football is all about fine margins. The boy has a bit of talent and with a little more application he can turn the jeers to cheers and become a favourite with the fans.”
Brian Dear’s prediction: Chelsea 1-1 West Ham United
Jeevesie’s prediction: Chelsea 2-1 West Ham United
