The stroke unit at Basildon Hospital has been given a donation of over £5,800 to support patients.
Suzanne Jenkins’s dad, who is from Laindon, suffered two strokes and was cared for at Basildon Hospital.
To show her gratitude to the stroke unit, Suzanne and her colleagues at Triland Metals Ltd took on the challenge of walking 16 bridges in London in seven hours.
The money they raised will be used to buy four wheelchairs and a recliner chair for the unit.
James Overton, ward manager of the stroke unit, said: “Donations like this make the world of difference to the quality of care and rehabilitation of our patients.
“We couldn’t be more grateful for this generous donation.”
