Butterfield in form for impressive Wakering

The villagers won three and lost one of their four fixtures. the opening match, a defeat at teh hands of Chelmsford City.

Wakering enjoyed much the better of proceedings. However, a stunning performance from the Clarets goalkeeper kept the contest on a knife-edge.

Nevertheless, Wakering hit back in their next fixture, seeing off Paringdon Pirates by a goal to nil and avenging the 2-0 defeat they suffered in the opening round of matches against the same opponents.

Hosts, Billericay proved no match as Wakering then swept to a resounding 5-0 triumph. The round concluded with an altogether tougher test against a well-drilled Leyton Orient side. Wakering eventually won by the odd goal in three.
