Butterworth sees signs that Rovers are heading in the right direction

Harlow Town 1-2 Great Wakering Rovers

Great Wakering Rovers completed their pre-season activity with a hard-fought victory at Southern League Harlow Town, offering further proof to boss Steve Butterworth that they are making progress following a tough warm-up to the new campaign.

Adam Vyse and Jake Gordon found the net for the villagers during their 2-1 success at the Harlow Arena, while Alex Reid responded for the home side: “I’m very happy to finish pre-season with a win,” Butterworth told Yellow Sport.

“It was a good indication that we are going in the right direction.

“The players worked their socks off. This result and performance will put us in good stead ahead of the opening league match next week.”

Rovers were boosted further with the triple-signings of Tambeson Eyong, Mitch Gilbey and Adam Vyse.
