Wicketkeeper/batsman, Will Buttleman provided the fireworks, retiring not out on 101 from 103 balls. Buttleman’s knock included thirteen 4s and one 6. KJ Greig took similar action after reaching his half-century. Meanwhile, Jack Plom was unbeaten on 43 as Essex posted a sizable 293/8.
