Canning Town 4-2 Old Southendian

OLD SOUTHENDIAN remain pointless at the foot of the ProKIt UK Essex Olympian League Premier Division following a 4-2 reverse against Canning Town at the West Ham Community Ground.

Nicolas Dubouchet and Ed Gould were on target for the Seasiders. However, sloppy defending proved costly as the host’s picked up their first victory of the campaign.

“I’m starting to feel like a broken record with what I can say about our performances but we have not started this season anywhere near good enough,” Old Boys manager, Connor Lane, told Yellow Sport.

We have not been able to put a consistent side out which is not allowing us to build.

It feels like, as a team, we are taking one step forward but two back

Lane continued: “After Saturday’s game, we have been brought down to earth, leaving us with plenty to work on.”

“Without sounding too much of a cliche, lessons are to be learned. Fortunately, it is still early but no doubt about it, we are now bottom of the league and need to get out of the relegation zone.”
