Case against Basildon man in fatal collision dismissed

A man will face no further action following a fatal collision in Basildon in 2018.

Mustafa Ozdemir, 52, of Great Mistley in the town was due to stand trial after being charged with causing death by careless driving.

It was reported that Ozdemir’s Volkswagen Caddy had been in collision with a Vauxhall Zafira on Burnt Mills Road at 7.10pm on July 21, 2018.

Sadly, the driver of the Zafira, 39-year-old Ryan Pinsent, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Following several hearings, no evidence was offered against Ozdemir on Tuesday July 28 at Basildon Crown Court, and the case was dismissed.
