CCTV images released after assault in Southend

Police are appealing for your help to identify the teenagers pictured in connection with a serious assault in Southend.

On Tuesday March 30, at around 7.25pm, a large group congregated on the beach on Marine Parade.

A 16-year-old girl was assaulted by a group of girls on the beach, opposite the Hope Hotel.

The teenager was punched a number of times and was grabbed by the hair.

A passing family witnessed this incident and three men in that group told the attackers to stop.

At that point, a separate group of young men arrived at the scene and attacked the three family members who had tried to help the teenage girl.

Each of the three men sustained facial injuries. One of the group sustained a fractured cheekbone which required hospital treatment.
