Chalkwell Lifeguards Club and its volunteers in Southend is supporting The Royal Lifesaving Society once again for the ninth year of its Drowning Prevention Week campaign, to help save lives in the sea, in rivers, lakes, ponds and swimming pools around the UK during the summer months ahead.

Drowning Prevention Week’s mission is to help everybody across the UK and Ireland, to enjoy water safely with the skills and knowledge to make the right decisions about safety and make memories that will last a lifetime, for all the right reasons.

The campaign, created by the Royal Life Saving Society UK (RLSS UK), encourages parents, schools, leisure centres and communities to use its free water safety resources, to give children and adults the skills to enjoy a lifetime of fun in the water.

Chalkwell Lifeguards Club Volunteers are running Water Safety Training sessions all through this week and during the rest of the school holidays ahead for children and adults.
