Chelmsford honed in on the title, pushing Billericay a step closer to the drop in the process following an emphatic victory at Chelmer Park.

Chelmsford’s lead at the top is now twenty-three points. Skipper Jack Sterland led the way with a majestic 105, while Ben Clifford provided support with a half-century before the declaration came on 239/8 – Ross Poulton doing his utmost with the ball for Billericay, taking 6/66.

But Poulton’s efforts were as good as it got for the visitors. Matthew Bell’s 36 offered little resistance as James Clifford, with 6/24, and two each for Ben Waring and Oliver Devenish confirmed a sizable success for the league leaders.
