Chelmsford man charged in connection with stabbing at Gants Hill nightclub

Police investigating a stabbing at Faces nightclub in Gants Hill in August have charged a man.

James Mattin, 28, of Cunard Square, Chelmsford, was charged on Saturday, September 21 with GBH with intent and possession of a pointed/ bladed article.

He appeared at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, where he was remanded to appear at Snaresbrook Crown Court on Friday, October 18.

The victim, a 21-year-old man, has been discharged from hospital and continues to recover from his injuries at home.

Two other men, both aged 26, who were arrested on suspicion of GBH at the time of the incident remain released under investigation.
