Middlesex v Kent Spitfires – Vitality Blast – The Cloud County Ground, Chelmsford – Report

Kent Spitfires 205 for eight (20.0 overs)

Middlesex 107 (14.1 overs)

Middlesex won the toss and elected to bowl

Kent won by 98 runs

Essex’s Cloud County Ground staged Middlesex’s ‘home’ Vitality Blast clash with Kent Spitfires, with the latter recording a sizable 98-run victory in front of a small, but enthusiastic audience.

Indeed, this proved to be Kent’s record Blast success, with the highlight, being a hat trick for Matt Parkinson, who oversaw the dismissals of Jack Davies, Tom Helm and Henry Brookes on his way to figures of 4-0-25-4.

Earlier, Kent had posted 205 for eight, with Joe Denly hitting a half-century. Middlesex’s chase never gathered sufficient momentum. Stephen Eskinazi, Jack Davies and Luke Hollman each scored 23 on a night with little to cheer for their side.
