Citizens in Policing Commander Jenny Brouard was recognised with a British Empire Medal in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours List.
And she has now been presented with her medal by Essex Lord-Lieutenant Jennifer Tolhurst at an Investiture in Chelmsford, ahead of International Volunteer Day on Sunday December 5.
Jenny was one of six Essex Police officers and members of police staff honoured with either the BEM or the Queen’s Police Medal.
She said after her Investiture: “I was delighted and honoured to receive my BEM from the Lord-Lieutenant. I have worked with volunteers for 15 years and I love working with so many dedicated people who give up their time to support Essex Police.”
Jenny oversees all police volunteers and has been instrumental in steadily building up the number of volunteers who give their valuable spare time to help protect communities.
Jenny has previously received numerous awards for her work – including an Essex Police Award in 2009, for developing volunteering in our force, and a Community Safety Award in 2015.
