Colchester end their recent run of defeats

Colchester United 0-0 Cheltenham Town

Colchester United ended their recent run of three Sky Bet League Two defeat. However, their winless run stretched to five following a largely uneventful encounter with play-off contenders, Cheltenham Town, at the JobServe Community Stadium.

Steve Ball recalled Miles Welch-Hayes, Tom Lapslie and Luke Norris following three successive defeat.

However, Colchester found themselves doing more than their fair share of defending during the opening period while Cheltenham’s Alfie May was denied an opener by an assistants’ flag.

Kwame Poku hit the foot of an upright, while Omar Sowunmi nodded wide as Colchester started the second half brightly. However, Charlie Raglan was a whisker away from winning it for the visitors in stoppage-time. The result leaves Colchester in twelfth place.
