Colchester sack boss Ball

Colchester United have confirmed the departure of manager, Steve Ball following a winless Sky Bet League Two run of thirteen games.

The U’s latest setback – a 2-1 home defeat at the hands of Exeter City – left the North Essex outfit hovering nervously above the dropzone.

A statement posted on the U’s official website by Owner and Chairman, Robbie Cowling. explained;

“Following the game tonight and a discussion I had with Steve, it was decided that the best way forward was for him to leave his position as Head Coach.

“Steve has been with the club in different capacities for a long time and I would like it placed on record our thanks to him for his hard work and dedication.”
