Collision in Southend leaves cyclist seriously injured

Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious collision in Southend.

Officers were called to the A127, close to the junction with Victoria Avenue, shortly after 2pm today, Friday May 27.

The collision involved a car and a bicycle.

The cyclist has been taken to hospital in a life threatening condition.

The eastbound A127 is closed at the junctions with Priory Crescent and Manners Way and is likely to remain closed for several hours.

Police have so far been unable to identify the cyclist.

She is described as white, of slim build and with blonde, shoulder length hair.

At the time of the collision, she was wearing a flowery dress.

She was riding a black Carrera Mountain bike.

Police would like to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and saw the collision or anyone who has dash cam footage.
