Consistency key for Daggers at Stockport

Stockport County v Dagenham & Redbridge – Edgeley Park – Vanarama National League – Saturday 3pm

BOTH DAGENHAM & REDBRIDGE and Stockport County will be looking to build a head of steam when the pair go head-to-head at Edgeley Park in a rearranged National League encounter on Saturday.

The initial match was postponed when the train carrying the Daggers players to the North West was heavily delayed due to a serious incident on the West Coast Mainline, resulting in the tragic death of one person and preventing train departures from London Euston Station.

Both sides would perhaps have expected to be amongst the promotion shake-up come the end of the season. However, mixed fortunes sees them both floundering in the bottom half of the table, desperate to produce some forward momentum.

The Daggers have slipped of late, winning just one of their last six outings. Most recently, Peter Taylor’s men went down by the odd goal in three at Solihull Moors, leaving them in fourteenth place, but only four points off the play-off places.

Host’s Stockport, sit three places below Dagenham having similarly won seven of their nineteen league matches to date. The Hatters most recent outing saw them go down 3-1 on home territory to Woking – the visitors first league victory in twelve matches.

Defender, Toby Stevenson, on loan to the Daggers from Sky Bet Championship side Charlton Athletic, should feature for the east Londoners, while boss Taylor confirmed that Kenny Clarke should be ready for the match despite appearing at Solihull ahead of schedule.

Jeevesie’s prediction: Stockport County 1-1 Dagenham & Redbridge
