RIGHT-ARM seamer, Sam Cook, has put pen to paper on a two-year extension on his current contract with Essex County Cricket Club.
The 22-year-old took 38 wickets across all formats of the game during the 2019 campaign as Essex claimed a historic County Championship and Vitality Blast double.
Speaking to www.essexcricket.org, the Cloudfm County Ground favourite said: “I’m over the moon to be signing an extension until 2022.
“Committing my future to the Club was an easy decision and is the perfect way to end a perfect season.
“We have a determined dressing room full of players that want to build on our success and regularly challenge for honours, and I’m excited for the next few years and to be a part of it.”
Meanwhile, delighted Head Coach, Anthony McGrath, added: “Sam is a fantastic bowler who played a big role in our success last year.
“He’s become extremely reliable and consistent and is a vital part of our side. It’s great news for everyone at the Club that he’s signed an extension and we’re looking forward to seeing him develop even further over the coming years.”

Six matches are scheduled for the MCC trip, with the thirteen-man squad as follows:
