Due to the current and rapidly evolving situation regarding the COVID19 pandemic Rochford District Council has postponed its upcoming events: Discover 2020: 200 years of HMS Beagle (May 30 and 31); Wild Woods Day (July 18) and the Rochford District Awards (May 15). It is proposed that these can be rescheduled for later in the year.
In addition, the council will not be taking bookings for appointments to view the Dutch cottage, in Rayleigh, until further notice.
Rochford District Council’s Leader, Cllr Mike Steptoe, said: “ Rochford District Council takes its responsibilities to its staff, residents and members of the public very seriously and whilst this has been an extremely difficult decision to make, I believe it is the right one in the circumstances.
“We will be immediately making plans to host these events later on in 2020 and I look forward to announcing new dates very soon.”
