Craddock return a boost for Old Boys

Old Southendian & Southchurch have bolstered their ranks ahead of the 2021 Hamro Foundation Essex Cricket League season with the re-signing of Max Craddock.

The 27-year-old opener came through the ranks at the Garon Park club playing an important role with the clubs’ youth system as well as developing himself as a senior cricketer.

A short, but successful stint at Leigh-On-Sea followed – Craddock helping the Chalkwell Park outfit to a league title in 2019. However, an opportunity to return to Old Southendian was too good to resist for the player.

“It’s my home and I missed being a part of it,” Craddock told Yellow Sport.

“I’m looking forward to getting involved again and playing Division One cricket. I really enjoyed my time at Leigh. They are a very good club and will always hold a special place in my heart. I have plenty of good memories from my time there.”

Meanwhile, Old Boys Head Coach, Andy McGarry, added: “It’s an absolute pleasure to see Max returning to the club.

“As someone who has previously played for us and with many good friends here, he will find it easy to fit straight back in. I’m sure will make a great contribution to our performances this summer in Division One, a challenge everybody at the club is looking forward to.”
