Colchester United v Forest Green Rovers – Sky Bet League Two – JobServe Community Stadium – Tuesday 7pm – Preview
Ray Crawford aired his concerns over Colchester United’s recent winless sequence.
Defeat at Carlisle United left Colchester United winless since the second day of the campaign and floundering in the bottom half of the Sky bet League Two table. And with another tough encounter ahead in the shape of promotion hopefuls, Forest Green Rovers, directly ahead, Steve Balls men could find themselves already detached from the top seven as they continue to grapple for consistency.
“We’ve got two home games this week and need six points – nothing less,” Crawford explained.
“It’s concerning that we can’t seem to string a few wins together at the moment. Conceding three goals for the second time in three weeks also worries me. I thought defensively, Colchester had looked fairly comfortable this season. There are certainly issues for the manager to address.
On the visit of unbeaten Forest Green, Crawford added: “They are flying and come to Colchester knowing a win could take them to the top if other results go their way. It’s not going to be easy.
“But no games in this division are a given. Colchester needs to roll their sleeves up, go into it tactically correct, and be the team asking the questions.
“There’s no time like the present to start getting it right. Beating Forest Green and Harrogate on Saturday will reestablish a marker and provide confidence as the league starts to open up and give a true picture of where each side should be on their merit.”
Ray Crawford’s prediction: Colchester United 1-0 Forest Green Rovers
Jeevesie’s prediction: Colchester United 1-1 Forest Green Rovers
