A man has been issued with a two-year Criminal Behaviour Order, banning him from being in possession of a bicycle, scooter, e-scooter or e-bike in Chelmsford.
Jake Carter, 27, of Meadgate Avenue, Chelmsford, was made subject to the order at Chelmsford Magistrates Court on Friday November 24.
The order follows an investigation, where Carter was sentenced to six weeks in prison after being found guilty of multiple assaults against women in Chelmsford. The investigation highlighted how Carter had approached the victims and assaulted them before using a bike to leave the area.
Following his sentence, investigating officers applied for a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) as a means to prevent further offending.
The CBO prohibits Carter from being in possession or be using any bicycle, scooter, e-scooter or e-bike in a public place within the City of Chelmsford.
