Cyclist injured in Basildon collision

Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dash cam footage following a serious collision in Basildon involving a car and a bike.

Officers were called to reports of a cyclist found injured in the road in Broadmayne at around 10.30pm on Saturday May 2.

He was taken to hospital for treatment on a serious head injury.

It is believed he had been in collision with a car between the Timberlog Lane roundabout and Church Road.

The car had left the scene.

A 35 year-old man has since been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene of a collision and he’s currently in custody.
