DAGENHAM & REDBRIDGE have announced Daryl McMahon as their new manager.

The Vanarama National League side moved quickly to appoint McMahon who left his post at Sky Bet League Two strugglers, Macclesfield Town yesterday.

The 36-year-old was a combative midfielder during his playing days, making more than 350 appearances, perhaps most notably with Leyton Orient and Stevenage as well as representing the Republic of Ireland at youth level.

Prior to his spell at Moss Rose, McMahon managed Ebbsfleet United. Speaking to www.daggers.co.uk about the appointment, Executive Chairman, Peter B Freund, enthused: “Daryl was our first choice from the moment we started this process and we are thrilled that he has agreed to lead the Daggers moving forward and into the future.”

Meanwhile, McMahon added: “I’m delighted to be here and looking forward to getting started now.”
