Notts County 3-1 Dagenham & Redbridge
Dagenham & Redbridge slipped to a damaging Vanarama National League defeat against a Notts County side who played for almost seventy minutes a man light.
The Daggers were already a goal down – Kyle Wootton firing home in the tenth minute after Elliott Justham had superbly denied Jimmy Knowles – when the Magpies lost stopper, Sam Slocombe – red-carded after wiping out Darren McQueen.
With no goalkeeper on the bench, experienced midfielder, Michael Doyle, donned the gloves. His first task overseeing Paul McCallum’s spot-kick hit an upright.
From there, Notts didn’t look back. Ruben Rodrigues added a second just after the half-hour mark and it was 3-0 in first-half stoppage-time when Wootton bagged his second of the evening.
Stand-in keeper, Doyle, did well to thwart the visitors, but he was eventually beaten by Matt Robinson late in the contest.
Dagenham & Redbridge remain in seventeenth place. They return to Vanarama National League action on Saturday, February 13 when Hartlepool United are the visitors to the Chigwell Construction Stadium (3pm).
