Ambitious Vanarama National League side, Dagenham & Redbridge, have significantly bolstered their firepower with the signing of highly-rated striker, Darren McQueen, from National South outfit, Dartford.
The 25-year-old netted twenty times for the Darts during the last campaign, helping the Kent club to the play-off final. After starting at Tottenham Hotspurs as an Academy player, the Leytonstone-born frontman moved to Ipswich Town, before playing non-league football with Maldon & Tiptree, Ebbsfleet United and Sutton United.
McQueen worked under Daggers boss, Daryl McMahon at Ebbsfleet and the man in charge at Victoria Road was delighted to be reunited with his former player.
“I’m delighted to have Darren join us here at Dagenham & Redbridge,” McMahon told www.daggers.co.uk.
He’s a player that I’ve worked with before when I was at Ebbsfleet. He’s extremely quick, plays on the shoulder and is a good finisher.
“He comes here off the back of having a very good season with Dartford in the National League South. He’s a player that the rest of the team will enjoy playing with because of his directness and his pace and I’m sure he’s a player that the fans will enjoy watching because of his quickness and goalscoring ability.”
