Daggers bring in Urchins wingman

Dagenham & Redbridge boss, Daryl McMahon, has moved quickly to recruit highly-rated winger, George Saunders, from Isthmian Premier League outfit, Hornchurch

The 22-year-old impressed during a two-year stint at Bridge Avenue, the player receiving the Urchins Player of the Year accolade in 2108/19.

After starting at Kelvedon Hatch, the player caught the eye of both Reading and Crystal Palace as he continued to progress.

Speaking to www.daggers.co.uk  about the signing, McMahon enthused: “George is a really exciting signing for us, he’s been outstanding for Hornchurch over the past two seasons. He’s got so many assists during his time there and he has a lot of talent.

“He’s a player that we can’t expect too much from straight away, we need to give him that time to develop. He is a very talented player and lots of clubs went in for George, but luckily, he chose us.

“It helped that he had been to a few Daggers matches over the years with his dad, and I’m really looking forward to working with him and helping him develop.”
