Wrexham v Dagenham & Redbridge – The Racecourse Ground – Vanarama National League – Saturday 3pm
DARYL McMAHON takes his improving Dagenham & Redbridge side to Wrexham keen to put further daylight between themselves and those currently occupying the Vanarama National League relegation places.
A debut double from Alex Reid secured an impressive and vital 2-0 victory for the East Londoners over high-flying Notts County, last weekend – the Daggers first win since mid-November, extended their recent unbeaten sequence to three matches.
Speaking to www.daggers.co.uk after that victory over the Magpies, McMahon said: “Very happy, I think it was a solid performance from us. Delighted to keep a clean sheet and obviously, to score two goals – great for Alex (Reid) as well, to get two goals.”
The Daggers chief believed his side have begun to evolve following his recent appointment and realised how vital it was to build some momentum as Dagenham look to distance themselves from the dropzone.
“I think it’s important. Like I say, they are a very good side, Notts County. We knew it was going to be a tough game – we played them two weeks ago,” he added.
“I think we are probably a different team today than what we were two weeks ago in the sense that we’ve had a lot of training days.”
Back-to-back victories over Woking and Harrogate Town have lifted host’s Wrexham four points clear of the relegation places.
However, the Daggers head to North Wales looking to complete a league double over the Red Dragons after edging them out by the odd goal in three when the two sides met at Victoria Road back in late October.
Jeevesie’s prediction: Wrexham 1-1 Dagenham & Redbridge
