Dagenham & Redbridge sit just four points above the National League dropzone after a single-goal setback at Hartlepool United.
Mark Kitching netted for the Monkeyhangers thirteen minutes from time, extending the Daggers recent winless league sequence to five matches.
Vanarama National League South
A goal from Joel Nouble just after the hour mark was enough to see Concord Rangers impressively see off Dartford at Princes Park – the Beach Boys sit ninth in the table.
Braintree Town played out a thrilling 3-3 draw with Havant & Waterlooville at Cressing Road. Rhys Murrell-Williamson’s 25-yard free-kick five minutes into stoppage-time secured a share of the spoils for the Iron – his second of an eventful match. Alfie Cerulli was also on target for the hosts. Meanwhile, Chelmsford City slipped to a 2-1 defeat against Chippenham Town at Hardenhuish Park – Robbie Simpson with the Clarets consolation.
BetVictor Isthmian League North Division
All the regions Isthmian Premier League games fell foul of the inclement weather and only one survived in the North Division where a crowd of 246 congregated at the Frost Financial Stadium to see Canvey Island and Aveley play out a hard-fought 1-1 draw.
George Woodward gave the Gulls and early advantage. However, the Millers snatched a point thanks to an own goal from Dan Humphreys four minutes from time.
Essex Senior League
With the entire league programme wiped out, attention turned to the Peter Butcher Memorial Trophy where Woodford Town overcame Barkingside’s second string by six goals to one in a match staged at the Harlow Arena.
ProKit UK Essex Olympian League
Old Southendian opened their brand new 3g ground at Garon Park with a 2-1 Premier Division victory over Kelvedon Hatch.
Stuart Paton and Ed Gould gave the home side a two-goal advantage before Richard Kadima responded. The Old Boys are tenth in the table, two points above the dropzone.
Catholic United remain hot on the heels of leaders, Sungate, following a 6-0 success over Harold Wood Athletic – Thomas Kearney and Michael Sammut both scoring twice for the victors.
Canning Town won by the odd goal in five at Hutton, while Shenfield AFC edged out Bishop’s Stortford Swifts by two goals to one.
There was a cracker in Division Three where Lakeside Reserves and Wakebury played out a 3-3 draw. Meanwhile, Collier Row beat Hullbridge Sports ‘A’ by three goals to one.
The only other game to beat the weather saw Herongate Athletic Reserves thrash their Leigh Ramblers counterparts 6-1 in a fairly one-sided Division Five clash.
