It proved to be a difficult afternoon for Dagenham & Redbridge in the North West as hosts, AFC Fylde, send the east Londoners spinning to a 3-0 defeat thanks to a first-half brace from Jordan Williams, complimenting an early strike from Mark Yeates.

This result – the Daggers eighth loss of the campaign – leaves them floundering in thirteenth place, five points adrift of the play-off places.

Buildbase FA Trophy third qualifying round

Aveley produced a superb performance to make FA Trophy progress, winning by four goals to one at Biggleswade Town. Alexander Akrofi scored twice, while George Sykes and a late Shad Ngandu penalty ensured the Millers advanced.

Tom Knowles and Dave Winfield were on target as Chelmsford City also tasted victory in the Trophy – The Clarets winning 2-1 – Kofi Halliday pulling one back for visitors, Hungerford Town.

Concord Rangers and Slough Town will try again following a hard-fought goalless encounter at the Aspect Arena, as will Hornchurch, who drew 1-1 at Oxford City – Rickie Hayles with the Urchins goal.

It’s the end of the Trophy trail for Maldon & Tiptree – the Jammers going down 4-3 in a thrilling tie at Enfield Town – Danny Parish scored twice, one from the spot, while Charlee Hughes was also on target but it was all to no avail for the FA Cup giant-killers.

Braintree Town also slipped out of the competition. Jason Banton had given the Iron an advantage, but visitors, Yate Town hit back to win by the odd goal in three. Joseph Staunton’s late goal was merely a consolation for Haringey Borough – the North Londoners crashing 4-1 against Hemel Hempstead Town at Coles Park.

BetVictor Isthmian League Premier Division

Bishop’s Stortford was the only regional side in Premier Division action. However, it proved to be a difficult afternoon for the ProKit UK Stadium side as visitors, Lewes won by two goals to nil – Dayshonne Golding and Stefan Ilic the men with the all-important strikes.

BetVictor Isthmian League North Division

Grays Athletic remain in contention for the play-offs following a single-goal success at Histon. Steve King with the winner six minutes before the interval. Grays move up to fifth.

Hullbridge Sports and Basildon United played out a well-contested 1-1 draw at Lower Road. Luke Hornsley gave the home side a twenty-sixth-minute lead. However, Ernest Okoh levelled for the Bees within two minutes.

David Knight scored from the penalty spot for Tilbury in a 1-1 draw of their own with Felixstowe & Walton United – Jack Newman responding for the visitors in a tight game at Chadfields. Ross Wall gave Coggeshall Town the lead against Soham Town Rangers – Matt Allan responded to ensure a share of the spoils for Soham midway through the second half.

There was a setback for Glenn Tamplin’s Romford side who went down 3-1 at high-flying Dereham Town. Adam Morgan scored for Romford – they remain bottom of the table, four points behind Brentwood Town who are just outside the relegation zone.

Essex Senior League


There were goals galore in the Essex Senior League with Walthamstow leading the way with an emphatic 7-0 triumph over struggling Southend Manor.

Redbridge wasn’t far behind, hitting six without reply past Enfield, while Hoddesdon Town were 5-0 winners over Sawbridgeworth Town. Stansted eased out Clapton 3-0, while in a far closer contest, Hadley saw off Tower Hamlets 3-2.

Ilford beat West Essex 2-1 at the Cricklefield Stadium. Elsewhere, St Margaretsbury and Takeley played out a goalless draw.

ProKit UK Essex Olympian League

A single goal was enough to earn Catholic United the points at Bishop’s Stortford Swifts in the only Premier Division game of the day.

In Division One, Old Chelmsfordians were 3-0 winners at Ramsden Scotia, while Herongate Athletic and Shoebury Town drew 1-1.

Old Southendian hit four without reply past AS Rawreth in Division Two, while Beacon Hill Rovers were 6-0 winners at Rochford Town. May & Baker Eastbrook Community Reserves edged out their Harold Wood Athletic counterparts by two goals to one.

Corinthian Reserves were too strong for Hullbridge Sports ‘A’ – winning their Division Three clash 4-1. ACD United won 2-1 at Basildon Town Reserves, while Collier Row were 3-0 winners over Leigh Town’s seconds.

Roydon was the big winners in Division Four, hammering Catholic United Reserves by seven goals to two, while Laindon Orient Reserves won a cracker with Ongar Town seconds 4-3.

Newbury Town Reserves were 5-1 winners over their Herongate Athletic counterparts in Division Five. Springfield Reserves were also amongst the goals, beating Leigh Ramblers second string by four goals to nil.

Essex Premier Cup

Selected highlights from the Essex Premier Cup saw Buckhurst Hill make progress with a 7-0 thrashing of Lawford lads. Rayleigh Town Reserves went one better, hitting eight without reply past Kelvedon Hatch. Chingford Athletic also went through with a 6-0 win at Wakering Sports.
