Daggers fight back to maintain their unbeaten start

Dagenham & Redbridge v Wealdstone – Vanarama National League – Chigwell Construction Stadium – Report

Dagenham & Redbridge 2-2 Wealdstone

Dagenham & Redbridge twice came from behind to maintain an unbeaten start to the Vanarama National League campaign.

Visitors Wealdstone played their part in an entertaining contest – Josh Umerah lifting over Daggers stopper, Elliott Justham to hand the West Londoners an eighth-minute lead.
Paul McCallum proved to be the proverbial ‘Jonnie on the spot’ to draw Dagenham level, poncing swiftly after the ball had ricochet into his path.

But Wealdstone, buoyed by a Bank Holiday draw with Southend, regained their earlier advantage when Dennon Lewis netted from close range.

But the Daggers ensured ten points from a possible twelve when George Saunders profited from Myles Weston’s clever wing-play ten minutes from time.

Dagenham & Redbridge return to Vanarama National League action on Saturday, September 11 when they face King’s Lynn Town at The Walks (3pm).
