Daggers fightback frustrates Gulls

Torquay United v Dagenham & Redbridge – Vanarama National League – Plainmoor Stadium – Report

Torquay United 2-2 Dagenham & Redbridge

Dagenham & Redbridge extended their unbeaten Vanarama National League sequence to five matches after recovering a two-goal deficit to earn a share of the spoils against Torquay United at Plainmoor.

The Daggers headed west off the back of four successive league victories but found themselves 2-0 down after just twelve minutes thanks to goals from Asa Hall and Danny Wright.

Josh Walker pulled one back shortly before the half-hour mark following a melee in the Gulls box. And the comeback was completed nineteen minutes from time with skipper Angelo Balanta superbly curled beyond Torquay stopper, Shaun MacDonald.

Dagenham currently occupies fourth place in the table, five points behind leaders, FC Halifax Town. They now turn their attention to the Buildbase FA Trophy where they face Southend United on Saturday, January 15 at the Chigwell Construction Stadium (3pm).
