Dagenham & Redbridge 3-2 King’s Lynn Town
Dagenham & Redbridge put further daylight between themselves and the Vanarama National League relegation zone with a thrilling victory over King’s Lynn Town at the Chigwell Construction Stadium.
The Daggers were beaten by Stockport County during the week and looked on course for a second-successive setback when Alex Kiwomya and Michael Gash handed the Norfolk outfit a two-goal lead before the interval.
However, the East Londoners conjured up a ‘Roy of the Rovers’ style comeback after the restart. Callum Reynolds nodded Dagenham back into contention midway through the second half. Then Andrew Eleftheriou restored parity twelve minutes from time.
And in a dramatic finale, the Daggers snatched all three points. King’s Lynn goalkeeper, Archie Mair, superbly rebuffed Mitch Brundle’s last-minute spot-kick. But from the resulting corner, the former Braintree Town and Dover Athletic man reacted the quickest to head the winner.
Dagenham & Redbridge return to Vanarama National League action on Tuesday, January 26 when they travel to Eastleigh (7:45pm).
