Daggers involved in Stockport stalemate

Stockport County 1-1 Dagenham & Redbridge

The points were shared as the Vanarama National League’s two in-form teams went head-to-head at Edgeley Park.

Dagenham & Redbridge headed to the North-West off the back of six successive victories, while the Hatters – still chasing automatic promotion – extended their unbeaten sequence to fifteen.

Paddy Madden found the net from close range shortly after the half-hour mark to hand Stockport the lead. However, the East Londoners were back on terma two minutes before the break when Paul McCallum profited following a Will Wright flag-kick.

Matt Robinson almost won it for the Daggers – hitting the frame of the goal, while George Saunders was denied by a superb Ben Hinchliffe save in stoppage-time.

Dagenham & Redbridge return to Vanarama National League action on Saturday, May 15 when FC Halifax Town visit the Chigwell Construction Stadium (3pm).
