Hartlepool United v Dagenham & Redbridge – Victoria Park – Vanarama National League – Saturday 3pm
Hartlepool United v Dagenham & Redbridge – Preview:
Dagenham & Redbridge head for the North-East to face Hartlepool United buoyed by their Buildbase FA Trophy exploits during the week.
Despite enduring a wretched National League run of late which has seen the east Londoners win just twice in thirteen outings. However, a 3-2 extra-time Trophy success over Sutton United during the week lifted spirits and booked a second-round tie at Notts County come the turn of the year.
Daggers Head Coach, Jody Brown, faced the media after the game and believed the result and performance could provide the injection of impudence his side required to push on and climb back into the top half of the league table.
“This can certainly be a moment in the season when we grow in belief – and most importantly – we grow in strength – together – and having people who can come on and affect a game like that is a massive plus,” he explained.
Speaking about the trip to Victoria Park, Brown added: “We’ll need to be ready for what will be a stern challenge there – especially with their improved form.
“Many people are saying about how many games it’s since we’ve won. We’re unbeaten in two, now, and we need to go there and make it unbeaten in three.”
Host’s Hartlepool were beaten 2-1 at Woking last time out. They currently occupy fourteenth place – two points and three places ahead of the Daggers.
Jeevesie’s prediction: Hartlepool United 1-0 Dagenham & Redbridge
