Daggers slip to stronger Stones

Dagenham & Redbridge v Wealdstone – Vanarama National League – Chigwell Construction Stadium – Report

Dagenham & Redbridge 0-2 Wealdstone

Wealdstone clinched their first away victory of the season with Sean Adarkwa and Tarryn Allarakhia both on target as they overcame Dagenham & Redbridge 2-0 at the Chigwell Construction Stadium.

With captain Elliott Justham making his 300th Daggers appearance, the home team started strongly with Conor Lawless and Frank Vincent both testing Marcus Dewhurst within the first ten minutes before near the end of the first half, Lawless went close again when firing Sam Ling’s cross straight into the keeper’s midriff.

Wealdstone took the lead five minutes after the break with Adarkwa turning home Allarakhia’s cross following a corner.

Daggers also had chances mid-way through the second half when Inih Effiong and Harry Phipps both had efforts blocked from a corner.

With the game entering its final stages, Daggers David Longe-King, who had earlier been substituted, was shown a red card in the dugout by referee Jason Richardson before in the first minute of stoppage time, Allarakhia showed clever close control to make space for himself to finish low past Justham to make it 2-0 and clinch the points for the Stones.
