Dear urges Hammers to get the job done

West Ham United v RSC Anderlecht – UEFA Europa Conference League Group B – London Stadium – Thursday (8pm) – Preview

Brian Dear is delighted with West Ham United’s timely return to form and has urged David Moyes’ men to take another significant step forward by seeing off Belgian outfit, RSC Anderlecht to confirm their UEFA Europa Conference League Group B qualification on Thursday evening.

The Hammers have won three out of three Group B ties ahead of the London Stadium clash, including a single-goal success in Belgium last week.

“We are nearly there and I fully expect us to get the job done on Thursday night,” Dear told Yellow Sport.

“Gianluca Scamacca has hit a bit of form, both in Europe and the Premier League. That has been a big plus, although watching Lucas Paquet√° settle into the team has also been a joy. They are terrific footballers – match winners – and we are starting to see that.

“We started the Fulham game slowly, conceding an early goal. But once we found our feet the result was never really in doubt. I said before the tie in Anderlecht that European success would help build momentum. That has certainly been the case because our league form has gone hand in hand.”

Dear continued: “Moyes will shuffle the pack on Thursday, but the squad is strong. We did the job last week in Belgium and I’ve no doubt we’ll get it done again this week.

“A win will see us through to the next stage, but we want to top the group as well. It sends out a message that we compete to win it.”

Dear credited boss, Moyes for the Hammers’ return to form: “Listen, our crowd are fantastic, but sometimes you need to be a little bit patient.

“We have brought in some new players and it was always going to take a few games for us to get up to speed. But you only need to look at the job the manager has already done. trust him.

“We now have a couple of winnable matches directly ahead of us. Doing exactly that will improve the mood further as well as confidence in teh camp.”
