West Ham United v Brentford – Premier League – London Stadium – Sunday (2pm) – Preview
Former West Ham United frontman, Brian Dear believes the capacity London Stadium crowd could be in for a treat when newly-promoted Brentford visit the London Stadium for an eagerly-anticipated Premier League encounter on Sunday.
While West Ham has pretty much picked up where they left off at the end of last season, the West Londoners have also impressed on their return to the top flight following a seventy-four-year hiatus.
“I’ve been really impressed with Brentford,” Dear told Yellow Sport.
“They have come up to have a go. They play some super football and leave nothing behind. I saw the highlights of their game with Liverpool last weekend, it was hugely entertaining stuff. Thomas Frank has everyone believing they can achieve something in the Premier League. They’ve comfortably beaten Arsenal and Wolves. We have to be on our guard and make sure we don’t become another Bees statistic.”
Dear continued: “I don’t think we can change the way we play for this game. We haven’t done an awful lot wrong. Our style is as good, if not better than Brentford’s.
“But we have too open and entertaining sides going head-to-head in this instance. It’s going to be a tough one to call, but I think the crowd are in for another cracking game of football with honours perhaps even on this occasion.”
Brian Dear’s prediction: West Ham United 2-2 Brentford
Jeevesie’s prediction: West Ham United 2-1 Brentford
