Southend United have confirmed the signing of left-sided defender, Sam Hart.
The 24-year-old spent the back end of the 2018/19 season on loan with the Roots Hall Stadium outfit. The former Blackburn Rovers man has now put pen to paper on a deal running until the end of the campaign.
As well as Southend, Hart has gleaned experience on loan with Port Vale, Rochdale and Shrewsbury Town. Speaking to www.southendunited.co.uk, the Horwich-born player enthused: “It’s great to be back. I’ve been in training for a few days now and have got a feel for it. It’s amazing to be back.
“I’ve got a lot of fond memories being here on loan in the past and hopefully we can create something special again.
“I had a couple of things that fell through but from the conversations I had with the Chairman and the Manager, I was really keen to get down here and get playing.
“I loved my time at Southend and hopefully there’s good memories to come again.”
Meanwhile, under pressure Blues boss, Mark Molesley, added: “Sam has been in training the last couple of weeks and we’ve seen the quality he will add,” said Molesley.
“He’s at a good age where the best is still to come but he adds good experience having played in the league above.
“He’s had a good football education growing up and has all the attributes to continue to develop.
“I know he really enjoyed his last spell at the club and he was really keen to come back. We’re really pleased to have him on board and look forward to working and developing him as a player.”
