OLD SOUTHENDIAN Ladies third team returned from the festive break with a bang as local hockey got back into full swing over the weekend.
The Old Girls trounced local rivals, Southend, by six goals to one after producing a dominant display.
Suzie Williams, Ellen Randall and Grace Finn all found the net as Old Southendian raced into a three-goal lead at the break. Once the sides returned, Williams completed an impressive hat-trick, while Bethan Ashworth got in on the act.
Speaking after the match, Zarah Sharpe enthused: “It was a stunning victory and a dazzling start to the year. The entire team played well, and got their reward.”
