Dispersal order following disturbance in Chelmsford

A dispersal order is in place covering Chelmsford High Street following a large disturbance there last night.

It was put in place at around 9.40pm yesterday (February 11) and will be in place until 9.40pm on Sunday February 13.

It is in place from Victoria Road in the north, to Springfield Road to the east, to the A1099 in the south, to the A1060, and then to Vicoria Road south to the west.

The order allows officers to move anyone suspected of causing anti-social behaviour on from the area.

Acting Inspector Arron Pitt said: “This order is in place following a large disturbance on the High Street last night.

“We responded to reports of a large group of young people causing anti-social behaviour.

“We have put it in place to protect local businesses, and the public using and enjoying them, and ensure they don’t feel threatened or intimidated.”
